How can death bring you positive experiences in your life?
The practice of imagining our own deathbed is a powerful tool for reflecting on what is truly important in life. When we face the reality that our existence is finite, our priorities change dramatically. Professional success or accumulated money no longer matters so much, but rather the meaningful relationships and experiences we have had throughout our lives.
It is easy to fall into today’s society’s trap of pursuing material success and wealth, thinking that will lead us to happiness. But when we imagine our own deathbed, we realize that what really matters to us are the people we love and the experiences we have shared with them.
In my case, when I imagined my own deathbed, all I wanted was to have my family and friends close to me.
I wanted to tell them how much I loved them and thank them for everything they had done for me. I wanted to make sure they knew how much they meant to me and how lucky I felt to have them in my life.
I also realized that there was nothing material that I wanted to have by my side. It didn’t matter how much money he had accumulated or how many possessions he had acquired, all of that was irrelevant at that moment. The only thing that mattered was the love and emotional connections I had created throughout my life.
This experience completely transformed me.
This experience completely transformed me. I realized that I had been chasing the wrong things in life and had lost sight of what really mattered. From that moment on, I began to focus more on the meaningful relationships in my life and creating memorable experiences with the people I loved.
I also realized that happiness is not something that can be bought with money. Although money is important to meet our basic needs, excess wealth will not necessarily lead to a happy and fulfilling life. It’s important to find a balance between work and relationships, and make sure we’re putting enough time and energy into the emotional connections that make us happy.
In short, the practice of imagining ourselves on our own deathbed is a powerful tool for reflecting on what really matters in life. It helps us focus on meaningful relationships and experiences and reminds us that happiness cannot be bought with money. If you want to find true happiness and satisfaction in life, you have to focus on the people and experiences that make you happy.
